Woman proposes to boyfriend on set of Boise film
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Jessica Winfree and her longtime boyfriend Jared Scharfetter moved to Boise three years ago and teamed up with Ryan Oswald to create Northwest Motion Pictures.
Oswald says, "Jessica is one of my very best friends. We are really close and she came to me a couple months ago and told me, I want to propose to Jared. And so she had this other idea she was working through. She wanted to sing this song that means something to both of them: 'Lovely Day.' She wanted to sing it to him but we wanted to find a format where it could still be a surprise."
That's when the they had an idea.
The film they were working on is based on Plato's theory of Love.
That soulmates were once physically connected, and that the god Zeus disconnected them, making it life's purpose to find your other half, or soulmate.
Oswald says. "The time frame actually worked out really well, because we were in pre-production for 'When the Gods Trembled,' where she would already be singing, because she's the headliner of the speakeasy we were in. And so she's already singing so we just had to orchestrate it so that she would be singing with the band as the last thing."
In the film's final scene, set in a 1920s speakeasy, Jessica, the lead actress in the film is singing with the band, with Jared unknowingly behind the scenes.
