Who's driving this SUV? Police looking for hit and run driver

GARDEN CITY, Idaho (KBOI) -Garden City Police are asking for your help in finding the driver of an SUV that hit a pedestrian and then fled the scene.

Police say 24-year-old Alan Beavers of Garden City was crossing the street at the intersection of Chinden Boulevard and Garrett Street just after 10 p.m. Saturday, when a dark colored SUV (most likely a 1992-1995 Toyota 4 Runner) driving west at a high rate of speed ran into him.

Officers found Beavers lying unconscious in the middle of the intersection with extensive injuries, while the car was nowhere to be found.

The vehicle sustained damage to the right front quarter panel/hood area and likely sustained damage to the right front headlight/turn signal.

He was transported to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center, and is in critical condition.

Garden City Police say this is a high priority case, and are requesting the public's help in gathering any more information. Officers say the dark SUV has front end damage.

They have been interviewing witnesses and nearby business owners, but encourage anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (208) 343-COPS.
