Two people killed in Highway 30 crash near Filer

Two people have died from a two-vehicle crash along Highway 30.

Idaho State Police says early Thursday morning, Thomas Stowell, 27, of Hagerman was driving west pulling a horse trailer with firewood when his vehicle crossed the center lane and collided head-on with 64-year-old Jason Roberts of Twin Falls, who was driving a semi truck.

Troopers say Stowell died at the scene of the crash. Roberts was taken to St. Luke's Magic Valley in Twin Falls where he later died from his injuries.

It's unknown whether Stowell was wearing a seat belt, however, Roberts was not wearing his before he was ejected from the truck. The crash remains under investigation.
