UPDATE: People killed in Malheur County crash identified
MALHEUR COUNTY, Oregon —
Oregon State Police say two people were killed in a crash shortly after 9 a.m. on Saturday on US 20 west of Harper, Oregon.
Two semi-trailers collided head on. The trucks burst into flames. Both drivers were killed.
Two passenger vehicles slammed into the back of one the trailers. They were Leonard Herr (60) of Middleton and Albert Nasby (52) of Fruitland. Airbags deployed and Herr and Nasby were not hurt.
US 20 was closed for about twelve hours for the investigation.
Speed and weather conditions are believed to be factors in the deadly crash.
