Two people arrested in connection with deputy shot in Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Authorities have arrested a suspect in the shooting of a Klamath County sheriff's deputy during a traffic stop.

They've also arrested the man's girlfriend on conspiracy charges and say they're looking for others involved in the shooting.

District Attorney Rob Patridge said Thursday the suspect is 30-year-old William Jack Parkerson, who was arrested in Chiloquin north of Klamath Falls. He faces charges of attempted aggravated murder and assault.

The woman is 33-year-old Karey Leigh Pascoe.

Sheriff Frank Skrah identified the deputy Thursday as Jason Weber. Skrah says he's a 7-year deputy in his mid-30s. He's expected to undergo surgery Thursday for a head wound.

Weber was shot Wednesday during a traffic stop in Klamath Falls. Skrah says authorities aren't yet releasing details of what happened there.
