Two dead after Boise driver falls asleep behind wheel, ISP says
KOOSKIA, Idaho (KBOI) -- Two people have been killed after a vehicle plunged into a river off Highway 12 in north central Idaho.
Idaho State Police says 29-year-old Boone Hallmark of Boise fell asleep while driving early Tuesday morning. The vehicle went off the road and ended up submerged in the Clearwater River. Emergency crews were able to get Hallmark out of the vehicle and transport him to Syringa Hospital in Grangeville.
His condition was not released.
ISP says the two passenger's identity have not been released. Rough river conditions have not allowed for rescue crews to retrieve the two bodies and the vehicle.
