Two charged with murder of Payette woman

PAYETTE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Two people have been charged with first degree murder in the death of a Payette woman this week.

The Payette County Prosecutor's Office says Michael Culley and Jonathon Hernandez have been arrested and charged with killing 45-year-old Elizabeth Baune while in the commission of a burglary.

Police said Friday morning that they had located Culley in Ontario, Ore.

Prosecutors say Hernandez was arrested in Payette.

Both are now being held in the Payette County Jail.

Hernandez's booking photo was not available as of Friday night.

The Payette County Sheriff's Office says Michael Culley is suspected of stabbing Baune multiple times in the head and chest. He apparently took off in Baune's vehicle and was found Friday in Malheur County in eastern Oregon.

Officials have not released what they believe Hernandez's role is in Baune's death.

Payette County Sheriff's office says deputies responded to a 911 call Wednesday night after Baune's cousin discovered the body and called police.

Court dates for both men have not been set.
