Two-alarm fire badly damages Caldwell business

CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) -- Firefighters have put out a two-alarm chemical fire at a Caldwell business.

The blaze ignited just after 6 a.m. at Gem State Marble at 105 North 5th Ave. When crews arrived, they saw heavy smoke and flames. The business owner was inside working with chemicals in the area where it started. He got out safely and was the only one inside.

Firefighters used water and foam to douse the blaze. Investigators are on scene trying to determine how the fire started.
