Treasure Valley man gets five years for stalking estranged wife
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) - A 23-year-old southwest Idaho man who stalked his estranged wife has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Shane Ford received the sentence Tuesday in 3rd District Court and must serve two and a half years before becoming eligible for parole.
He pleaded guilty in November to felony stalking.
Prosecutors say that Ford harassed his estranged wife before and after she got a protective order intended to keep him away from her and her child.
Police say incidents included Ford holding his wife at gunpoint while two others took her child, and showing up at her apartment with a shotgun and threatening to shoot her guests.
Judge Juneal Kerrick put Ford on a rider program, meaning he could be released within a year if he meets specific conditions.
