Tour de Fat looks for another record year in Boise
On Saturday, August 12th, Tour de Fat, New Belgium Brewing’s bicycle and beer fest, returns to Boise.
According to the Boise Bicycle Project, each of the last four years the bike parade and rally has set a new record for participants. The parade begins at 10:10 a.m. in Ann Morrison Park and continues through downtown Boise. The rally is immediately afterwards (11:30 a.m.) and started from the steps of the Idaho Capitol. Participants are encouraged to dress up in funny and outrageous costumes for the parade.
The one change this year, the Tour de Fat Festival beginning at 4:00 p.m. will be at Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Gardens. And for the first time, there's an admission charge of $25. The featured band at this year's festival is Blackberry Smoke from Atlanta.
A portion of the money taken in by Tour de Fat goes to three local non-profits: Boise Bicycle Project, Southwest Idaho Mountain Biking Association and Treasure Valley Cycling Association.
Tickets are available to purchase on eventbrite.
