Boise PD: Three people busted with two pounds of meth after traffic stop along I-84

Three people are facing felony drug charges after a traffic stop along Interstate-84 in Boise early Wednesday.

Boise Police says officers stopped a vehicle near Orchard Street and I-84 for speeding at about 2:30 a.m.. A police K9 later alerted to the possible presence of drugs inside the vehicle, BPD says.

Officers say they later found a large duffel bag with baggies and plastic wrap bundles and two pounds worth of meth.

Officers arrested Douglas W. Lopez, 50, Athena K Lopez, 55, and Tabatha Zapata, 47. The Boise residents each face felony drug trafficking charges.
