Sheriff deputies across the Treasure Valley are continuing to look for a Boise man who fell into the Snake River over the weekend.

The Ada County Sheriff's office says the 31-year-old man fell out of the canoe near Celebration Park on Saturday. Deputies say the man and a 31-year-old woman hit some rough water when the canoe tipped over.

The woman was able to swim to shore. Witnesses say the man was able to hold onto the canoe for a while before he tried to swim to shore.

Police say the water temperature was about 53 degrees. The woman was treated on scene for hypothermia.

Canyon and Owyhee county sheriff’s deputies routinely patrol the Snake River in that area and will continue to use sonar to try to locate the man.

Volunteers with Ada County’s Trauma Intervention Program (TIPS) are providing support to the woman and family members.
