Seven people taken to hospital after multiple-vehicle crash near Payette

Idaho State Police says the driver of a Nissan was heading west and attempting to make a left turn into a rest area along Highway 52 when it hit an eastbound Ford Ranger truck. The Ford went onto the right shoulder, over corrected, and went into the westbound lanes and hit a third vehicle.

Seven people were taken to the hospital following a crash Thursday evening near Payette.

Idaho State Police says the driver of a Nissan was heading west and attempting to make a left turn into a rest area along Highway 52 when it hit an eastbound Ford Ranger truck. The Ford went onto the right shoulder, over corrected, and went into the westbound lanes and hit a third vehicle.

Troopers say five people were taken to St. Luke's Clinic in Fruitland while two people were taken to St. Alphonsus in Boise by air ambulance. The severity of the injuries is not known.

The crash remains under investigation.
