Semi fire causes I84 to shut down; interstate re-opens

BOISE -- The westbound lanes of Interstate 84 were closed briefly Monday night between mile marker 13 and 17 because of a semi-truck that was on fire.

The interstate has since re-opened.

Firefighters from multiple agencies were called to the scene.

No word on what caused the semi to catch fire, but traffic was re-routed while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.
