Section of Boise Greenbelt set to be closed for improvements

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A bumpy section of the Boise Greenbelt is about to get a facelift.

Boise Parks and Recreation is set to close the north side of the river from Riverside Park, 1775 W. Shoreline Drive, west to Fairview Avenue.

"The new stretch of pathway under the trestle bridge will not only improve the surface quality but also visual sight lines through this section of Greenbelt," said Kelly Burrows, development coordinator.

The project is expected to be completed in early November and will cost about $200,000 with funding provided by the City of Boise.

During construction, this stretch of the Greenbelt and the Garden Street access via the trestle bridge will be closed to the public.

Pedestrians are urged to follow a signed detour via Shoreline Drive to Fairview Avenue.
