Season of Wishes: Olivia

Throughout the holiday season KBOI 2 News is introducing you to local Make-A-Wish children.

This week Olivia tells us the reason why she wanted to go to Washington DC while fighting a life-threatening illness.

"I love American history," said Olivia McMurran. "I was really glad my whole family could go on the trip."

The 15-year-old has an auto-immune dysfunction which causes muscle weakness, but has risen above her illness. Make-A-Wish sent her family of four to DC in June.

The Capitol High Student has a great support system and Olivia and her mom, Jackie, include Make-A-Wish in that group.

"Olivia was made to feel very special," said Jackie McMurran. "It was a gift we could never re-thank and we're eternally thankful."

On Christmas Eve make sure to tune into our Season of Wishes special. Tami Tremblay will introduce you to nine more local Make-A-Wish Children as well as volunteers. The special airs at 5:30pm.
