Robie Creek runners encouraged to wear ribbons for Boston

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Organizers of the annual Race to Robie Creek half marathon are asking runners to wear blue or yellow ribbons in a tribute to the people impacted by the Boston Marathon bombing on Monday.

In a Facebook post, the race says they are encouraging participants to wear the ribbon "in tribute to the victims, runners, fans, and volunteers at the Boston Marathon."

Organizers say the blue and yellow ribbons will be handed out when runners pick up their race packets Wednesday evening.

The Race to Robie Creek starts at noon on Saturday in Boise.
