Last night we got a bit of snow to start the winter season. But, today we are seeing some of it melt causing the roads to become a little slick.

According to Ada County Sheriff's office, 25 crashes were reported by 11 a.m. Three with injuries and 10 slide-offs.

They are asking drivers to slow down and allow plenty of stopping distance when snow and ice are covering the roads and highways.

Road conditions and safety are on high alert right now with low temperatures after last nights snow fall.

"I was impressed on how well they cleaned the roads. But honestly, it was already sanded and salted at least. Sidewalks were plowed or blown off or cleaned, someway," said Larry Comparone, Boise resident.

Not all areas are shoveled off for drivers and pedestrians. Be cautious and alert for the slick patches of black ice. It may be difficult to see, as it blends in with the asphalt on the roads.

Sunshine and temperatures in the mid 30's today have melted the snow and ice creating a slushy mess. Now this was a light snow fall, we might not be as lucky with the next one.
