Ride for the Red will benefit the American Red Cross

BOISE - You can always count on them to provide support and relief during any disaster.

And now, the American Red Cross is hoping you'll support them in a charity ride through the Treasure Valley.

The first-ever Ride for the Red is this Sunday, September 8th starting at Barber Park, and includes a ride through the vineyards and orchards of the southern Treasure Valley for a 50, 75 or 100-mile trip.

The event chairperson says it's a great way to help a charity that's there whenever someone's in need.

"Every day, they respond to four house fires a week, it isn't necessarily the big event you might see with Hurricane Sandy or Hurricane Katrina, but it certainly affects your neighbors right here in the Treasure Valley," said Ride for the Red Chairperson Gary Botts.
