Three people in custody in connection to armed robbery at Meridian Walmart

Police are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob a vehicle in the parking lot of a Meridian area Walmart early Tuesday morning.

Police have taken three people into custody who tried to rob a woman in a Meridian Walmart parking lot early Tuesday morning.

Meridian Police say a 59-year-old woman was sitting in her car when two men approached her vehicle. One of the men shattered her window with a baseball bat and demanded everything in her possession.

Police say the woman drove away without giving either of the men any of her belongings.

Shortly after, police were dispatched to a burglary alarm at the Ultra Touch Car Wash on Fairview, where police say a cash register and several other items were missing.

The Canyon County Sheriff's Office has reported it located a possible suspect vehicle, a gold Buick RVD, from a possible burglary that was interrupted by a Canyon County homeowner.

Meridian Police arrested three seventeen-year-old males after a citizen called police stating they had picked up three teenagers in the area where the suspect vehicle was found. The teenagers told the citizen they had run out of gas and needed a ride. All three face charges of attempted armed robbery, burglary, and felony malicious injury to property.

Items from the previous burglary were recovered in the vehicle.
