NAMPA — No charges were filed for last week’s reported battery incident at Nampa Christian High School, according to Nampa Police Sgt. Tim Riha.

The Idaho Press-Tribune reports the morning of Jan. 30, Nampa Police got a report about a battery incident that allegedly took place between staff and a student, according to Riha.

Nampa Police Sgt. Scott McCain conducted roughly 20 interviews about the incident last week, Riha said, and prosecutors found insufficient evidence to file charges.

Riha said the incident took place while students were in chapel. He said it involved two to three students who were “acting up” and an employee who was sent to stop them. There were discrepancies in witness reports about how the employee stopped the students, Riha said. He said there were no visible injuries.

Officials at Nampa Christian High School did not return phone calls requesting comment, The Press-Tribune reported.
