Police: Melba woman arrested in Nampa shooting

CANYON COUNTY, Idaho (KBOI) - A woman was arrested for murder Sunday after investigators linked her to a man's death that happened earlier in the week, the sheriff's office said.

Officials said that 59-year-old George Richardson, Jr. was found shot to death inside of his home just outside of Nampa on Thursday afternoon.

Nicole Lee Kirtley, 34 of Melba, was charged with murder and grand theft for her involvement in Richardson's death, Canyon County officials said.

She is being held at the Canyon County Detention Center until her arraignment scheduled for Monday afternoon.

During the investigation, detectives found that Richardson's red 1997 Jeep Wrangler was missing from the house.

A tip lead them south of Melba, where investigators said they found the Jeep partially submerged in the Snake River.
