Police investigating stabbing in Garden City

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - Garden City Police are investigating a report of a stabbing Friday night.

Ada County Dispatch says that the call came in just after 7 p.m.

Dispatch says the stabbing happened in the 3500 block of West Chinden Boulevard, which is the West River Inn.

Garden City Police say that when they arrived on the scene they found several motel patrons giving CPR to a man who had suffered stab wounds to the arm and torso.

Police say after their initial investigation they learned that two men, 24-year-old Shaw Logsdon of Nampa and 22-year-old David Kirby of Boise, had gotten into an argument about a block away from the motel.

Officers say Logsdon and his girlfriend walked back to their motel room after the incident, and just as they arrived at the door, Kirby drove into the parking lot and confronted them, starting a physical fight.

Police say Kirby was stabbed multiple times during the fight, and was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police detained Logsdon for questioning, but have not arrested him at this point.

Garden City Police will continue to investigate.
