Police: Boise man went on rampage, rammed police car

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) - A 36-year-old Boise man has been arrested after police say he battered a 60-year-old woman, damaged her home, then used his car to ram the victim's car and a police vehicle.

Garden City Police say Brian Dufty had to be tazed and pepper sprayed because he didn't surrender to officers.

Police say they responded to the 5900 block of Willowdale around 6 p.m. Wednesday for a report of a fight and someone ramming his car into another vehicle.

When officers arrived, they say Dufty was trying to drive away from the scene, so one officer pulled his car in front of Dufty's to make him stop.

Police say Dufty instead rammed his Volkswagen Jetta into the police car.

Officers say once Dufty did stop the car, he was non-compliant with their commands so they used a taser and pepper spray in order to take him into custody.

Investigators say that Dufty left visible injuries on the 60-year-old victim and caused extensive damage to her property and vehicle.

Police say they are still investigating the relationship between Dufty and the victim.

Dufty is charged with misdemeanor battery, resisting and obstructing arrest, felony malicious injury to property, and aggravated assault on a police officer.
