The Payette River has overflowed into the town of New Plymouth.

The river is expected to continue to rise to minor flood stage, and will rise through Thursday. The Payette County Sheriff's Office says residents should monitor the river levels in order to protect their homes.

Residents can get sand bags at Darts True Value in Payette.

The National Weather Service has been measuring and following floods around the state. You can check the probability of flooding and measurements on their website.

As the weather compromises living conditions, NWS has a spring safety website with pointers on emergency kits, education and other resources.
