Person of Interest found in Adams County

PAYETTE, Idaho -- The 18-year-old sought as a person of interest in the death of a Payette woman Sunday morning was found driving the victim's truck in Adams county, the Payette County Sheriff's Office said.

The person of interest, Tyler Naughton, was located in Adams County at around 9 p.m. by a State Trooper. Naughton was found driving a tan Ford F350 pickup owned by one of his relatives that had been found dead earlier in the day.

Sheriff's deputies and Fruitland City Police responded to NW Second Street in Payette just before 7 a.m. Sunday to find 60-year-old dead her residence. The woman, Sherryl M. Kenney, was discovered by a relative living at the house.

PCSO detectives said that the incident didn't appear to be a home invasion. Investigators are treating the death as a homicide.

Sheriff's deputies named Naughton a person of interest in the case because of his connection to the victim.

The 18-year-old Naughton is a relative of Kenney's and detectives said he was at the home the night before she was found dead. PCSO detectives said that it is unclear if Naughton lived at the address, but he used Kenney's home as one of his primary contact addresses.
