Pedestrian taken to hospital after getting hit by pickup truck in Boise

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A Meridian man was taken to the hospital after getting struck by a pickup truck while crossing the street Tuesday morning.

Boise Police says the driver of the pick up, a woman from Boise, was westbound on Front turning south onto 9th. The pedestrian, a man from Meridian in his 40's was crossing north. Officers say it appears the driver was looking for oncoming traffic and did not look to see the pedestrian.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital with injuries that, on scene appeared non-life threatening. The collision happened at very low speed, BPD said in a news release.

The driver was cited a $90 ticket.
