Oregon teacher arrested, accused of sexually abusing former student

Police arrested an Aloha High School teacher Tuesday who they accuse of sexually abusing a former student, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Eric Wise, 37, turned himself in to detectives at about 11 a.m., the sheriff's office said.

The investigation into Wise began earlier this month after several people came forward to report their suspicions that Wise had a sexual relationship with the former student, who was a minor at the time.

Detectives say their investigation led them to believe Wise also gave alcohol to a minor.

Police say the victim was in Wise's class for several years.

After it learned of the investigation, police said the Beaverton School District immediately placed Wise on administrative leave.

Wise was taken to the Washington County Sheriff's Office and posted bail, the sheriff's office said. He is expected to appear in court Jan. 31 at 8:30 a.m.

Wise teaches marketing and business at Aloha High School. He's been employed by the school district since 2006.

Police are concerned there may be more victims and are asking anyone who may have more information about the case contact Detective Robert Rookhuyzen at 503-846-2673.
