Boise Police officers have arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting near Five Mile Road and Edna Street Sunday evening.

21-year-old Jacob Wall was arrested, and he now faces a second degree murder charge among other charges, including aggravated battery.

Boise Police says the call came in around 6 p.m. When they arrived, they found one man dead. The man was later identified by the Ada County Coroner's Office as 38-year-old Luis Rey Lara of Boise.

Wall was arraigned in the state district court Monday.

The prosecution said this all started with road rage. They say "words were exchanged" and then Lara got out of his car, approached Wall's window and started punching through the window.

According to prosecution, Wall then shot Lara in the shoulder. Lara walked away, but Wall followed and then tackled by Lara.

Prosecutors say Wall then shot Lara three times, killing him.

The judge set Wall's bond at $1 million and issued a no contact order with the Lara's family.

The preliminary hearing is set for Nov. 21.

The shooting is still being investigated by BPD. Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the incident and has not already talked with police to call 343-COPS or Ada County Dispatch at 377-6790.
