One dead in house fire near Nampa landfill

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) Authorities say a body was found inside a Nampa home burned in a fire.

Canyon County authorities say the cause of Wednesday's blaze and the female's death are both under investigation.

The female's name was not released pending notification of her next of kin.

Canyon County Sheriff's Lt. Dania Ballard says the fire was contained to the kitchen and attic of the home.

The Upper Deer Flat Fire Department and the Nampa Fire Department put out the fire shortly after arriving.

Ballard says an autopsy will be conducted.
