Officials looking for missing, possibly endangered girl, 11, to make sure she's OK
WARM SPRINGS RESERVATION —
Authorities are asking the public for help in finding an 11-year-old girl, so they can make sure she’s OK.
The FBI and the Warm Springs Police Department said they believe Kaitlyn Stofiel is with her 44-year-old father Thomas Clarence Stofiel. But they said he may be distraught, is known to have weapons and reportedly has survival skills.
The father’s truck was found late last month about a half mile down the Mount Wilson turnoff of Highway 26, which is near milepost 76 on the reservation.
Authorities said the father and daughter have no known connection to the reservation.
They were most recently living in Portland and Kaitlyn was being home-schooled. They haven’t been seen for at least a week.
Thomas Stofiel is white, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds, has brown hair and green eyes.
Kaitlyn is white, has long dark hair and blue eyes.
Officials say anyone who knows where they are is asked to call 911. They ask that you don’t approach them.
