North Star Charter School to remain open

EAGLE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Class is back in session at North Star Charter School.

On Tuesday, the school's board announced that officials made an agreement with bondholders, allowing the school to continue its operations.

The Meridian School District put North Star Charter on official notice based on what the school district called "a lack of short term and long term financial soundness."

Audits show the school will be short $30,00 in April and $640,000 in June.

"We are extremely pleased to deliver this good news to our students, parents, staff and community so we can focus on what North Star does best - providing an outstanding educational experience to our students," said Jim Miller, chairman of North Star's board of directors.
