Neighbor on peeping Tom: 'Gives me the heebie-jeebies'

MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - A peeping Tom is making the rounds in Meridian.

Officers say they've received numerous prowler calls over the past few months. The reports are mostly concentrated south of Ustick Road between Locust Grove Road and Meridian Road.

"It's scary because you don't know, especially if you're home during the day by yourself, you don't know if someone's going to try to break into your house," said Lizzy Baker, who lives in the area. "It's kind of scary, especially with kids."

Police say several homeowners have spotted a tall skinny man (about 6 feet) wearing dark clothing peeping in windows and running through backyards in the area. Officers received several calls about the suspect Monday night.

"It freaks me out," Baker said. "(It) gives me the heebie-jeebies, you know, because you don't know what's going to happen and what's going on."

The man's behavior is apparently escalating, however, because police say he went inside a home but then ran away when the homeowner called 911.

Police are reminding residents to lock their doors and to report any suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to call 343-COPS.
