Naked man hit by trailer in Oregon dies from injuries

EDDYVILLE, Ore. - A naked man who's body slammed a pickup and got hurt when the driver tried to leave the area Sunday night has died, Oregon State Police said.

Amos McLean, 38, of Eddyville died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Corvallis, where he had been in critical condition since Sunday night's incident.

Police have no explanation yet for McLean's behavior Sunday night.

Witnesses told police McLean stood naked in the center of Highway 20, shouting and waving tree branches.

He then entered a neighbor's vehicle, removed a box of mail and moved to the center of the westbound lane, where he sat down, police said.

As vehicles approached him and stopped, McLean got up and approached a Ford F250 pickup pulling a travel trailer driven by a 57-year-old Salem man.

Witnesses told police McClean slammed his body into the side of the pickup and then punched the rig.

As Simpson pulled away, the travel trailer hit McLean, knocking him to the ground, police said.
