Middleton man, 78, attacked by dogs while sitting on front porch
MIDDLETON, Idaho (KBOI) —
Seventy-eight-year-old George Davis was sitting on his porch taking in the late afternoon sun when two dogs, each about 65 pounds, suddenly appeared.
"They seen me sitting here and they just run straight across the street and attacked me," Davis told KBOI 2News. "They were on me before I...I thought they were some dogs (that wanted to) come over to be petted. They weren't interested in that. They were interested in attacking me."
And attack him they did as his bite wounds clearly show.
"Sunk his tooth in here. This is like a slice. Right under there under my arm, took a big slice. They stitched it up. Bruised my arm where he grabbed me right there."
Blood stains still spatter the walkway.
"Only reason I'm saying this is cause them two dogs gonna kill somebody if they don't do away with cause they was just going crazy."
Davis called police and got medical treatment.
Middleton Police told KBOI 2News that the dog's owner was cited for two counts of misdemeanor vicious dog at large. The dogs have to be quarantined for 10 days.
Davis, who was knocked off the porch by the dogs and kicked at them, says the dogs took off after just a few minutes.
"I'm glad they didn't hang around because they probably would have killed me."
Police are not releasing the name of the dog's owner at this time. She will make a court appearance and the fate of the dogs will be up to the courts, police say.
Davis says he's doesn't know the owner and hopes he doesn't see the dogs again.
