Meridian teen killed in crash

BOISE, Idaho - Boise Police are investigating a deadly crash that killed one person and seriously injured four others.

The crash was reported at 1:22 Saturday morning. When officers got to the scene at N. Curtis Rd and Opohonga Street, just north of the connector, they found a single car that had struck a cement wall. Five teenagers were inside the sedan.

Sadly, officers found one person dead at the scene. Four others were transported to hospital with what appeared at the time to be serious injuries.

Investigating officers say speed appears to have been a contributing factor. Also, four out of five of the teenagers were not wearing seatbelts. The Boise Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Team and Detectives continue to investigate.

The name of the person killed is Scott Hyde, 18-years-old, from Meridian. No other names have been released.
