Marchant pleads guilty to murder of Boise State student Sierra Bush
BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) —
Bruce Marchant has pleaded guilty to the killing of 18-year-old Boise State student Sierra Bush.
Marchant changed his plea Tuesday in Ada County District Court.
He was originally charged with first degree murder, but his kidnapping and rape charges have been dropped as part of an agreement with prosecutors. Sierra, a well-known BSU student who also went by Simon, went missing in September and her body was found near Idaho City in late October 2016.
In pleading guilty, the 62-year-old waived his rights to an appeal.
