Man who had boy touch him sexually at DMV sentenced

CALDWELL, Idaho (KBOI) - A 38-year-old Parma man has been sentenced to up to 12 years in prison after he forced a young boy to touch him sexually at the DMV.

The Canyon County Prosecutor's Office said Thursday that Juan Perales will have to serve six years behind bars before he's eligible for parole.

The 7-year-old victim was in the DMV bathroom when officials say Perales grabbed the victim's hand and put it on his genitals. He later admitted to law enforcement he made the boy touch him for sexual gratification.

"The court is considering there are two victims now. You approached a complete and total stranger in a total public place," Judge Huskey told the defendant in court. "What you did was significant; it has earned you some penitentiary time."

Perales will have to register as a sex offender and pay thousands in civil penalties and have no contact with the victims.
