Man sentenced to 30 years for killing grandmother

PAYETTE, Idaho (KBOI) - A Fruitland man who prosecutors say shot and killed his grandmother has been sentenced to up to 30 years in prison.

The Payette County Prosecutor's Office said Friday that Tyler Naughton will have to serve 25 years in prison before he's eligible for parole.

Naughton was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter as well as use of a firearm in the commission of a crime. Police say Naughton shot his grandmother, 60-year-old Sherryl Kenney, four times in her home in September of 2012.
