Man on $3,000 mountain bike fails to return ride to shop, BPD says

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- A 31-year-old Boise man has been busted for stealing an expensive mountain bike, Boise Police said.

Officers say retail employees at a store on the 1300 block of West Main contacted them Tuesday after a man took a $3,000 mountain bike on a test ride but never returned. Police were able to track down the suspect and obtained a search warrant for his house on West Pleasanton Avenue on Tuesday.

BPD says after searching the residence, officers say the suspect, Jedediah Fronton, 31, stole two additional bicycles in the same manner from a separate retail shop. Authorities say Fronton sold the bicycles for cash.

Fronton has been booked on four felonies -- burglary and three counts of grand theft.
