Man charged with vehicular manslaughter after deadly crash

EAGLE, Idaho (KBOI) - The Ada County Sheriff's Office says a 28-year-old Caldwell man has been booked on a misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter charge after he allegedly caused a crash that killed an Eagle motorcyclist.

Officials say 64-year-old Arthur Peter Zottarelli of Eagle died Aug. 27 as a result of blunt force trauma after the crash on State Street and Park near Eagle High School.

The Ada County Sheriff's Office says as the driver of the pick-up truck, identified as Tyler James Campbell, neared the intersection with Park, he attempted to turn into a convenience store parking lot and collided with the motorcycle.

Investigators say Zottarelli, who was wearing a helmet, was killed instantly.

The sheriff's office says Campbell turned himself into the Ada County Jail on Thursday. He later posted a $10,000 bond. The 28-year-old will be monitored for alcohol and drug use and is not allowed to drive while awaiting his court hearings. (Photos from the Scene >>>)

Campbell's first appearance on the misdemeanor charge is scheduled for Nov. 16 in district court.
