Make-A-Wish volunteer goes above and beyond

BOISE, Idaho- KBOI 2News is partnering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Idaho to spotlight incredible children and the volunteers that make their wishes possible.

Jim Latta has been involved in Make-A-Wish for three years now. He's known for always going above and beyond as a wish granter.

Latta heads up a local bank but giving back is his mission in life.

"No matter what kind of day you've had, how stressful life is, when you give back you see the happiness it brings and things going on in your life seem pretty simple," Latta said.

He moved to Boise from Sun Valley a few years ago and immediately got involved. His first wish child wanted to be a member of the Green Bay Packers for the day.

"Mitch got a jersey and met the coaches," Latta said.

His most recent experience was getting Gage a puppy. He wanted a white english bulldog and the pieces just seemed to fall together.

"I'm at at pet store and talk with this lady who has a bulldog and tell her the story and her relative called from Portland and said she had a puppy for Gage," Latta said.

Latta flew to Portland to pick up the puppy for the young boy with a brain tumor.

"It was just a great feeling everyone on the plane knew what we were doing," Latta said. "People just light up when you say Make-A-Wish."
