Lucky Peak 77% full, boating outlook great

BOISE, Idaho (KBOI) -- Thanks in large part to the precipitation in February, the water level at Lucky Peak Reservoir is up a little higher for boating season earlier than usual.

"It means a great boating season to be honest with you," said Surant Nicol, assistant manager at Lucky Peak State Park. "We got those late rains which helped out quite a bit, we also benefited from maintenance on the canals. The water wasn't going down there, it was being stored up here at Lucky Peak and Arrowrock."

In fact, all 300 slips at Spring Shores Marina are ready to go about a month early than in the past few years.

Currently, Lucky Peak is about 77 percent full and the Bureau of Reclamation usually has it near full by Memorial Day weekend.
