Local reactions to Zimmerman verdict
Zimmerman was cleared of all charges Saturday in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Many viewers had mixed feelings about the case.
Linda wrote, "I watched the trial and I'm still torn. It was so preventable."
Pamela wrote, "Since I was not on the jury and did not hear all the evidence I can not make an intelligent decision. It appears the prosecution did not prove beyond a shadow of a doubt the charges that were filed."
After getting these comments, KBOI 2News asked viewers if they think Zimmerman's case impacts Idaho. Many said yes.
Emily wrote, "If you don't think it affects everyone in America, you need to pay attention. Not caring about it until it is in your own backyard is shortsighted and selfish. What affects one of us affects all of us."
Both sides of the argument can agree that the case has sparked a nationwide interest in our court system.
"For some people, it's going to renew their faith in the judicial system. For others, it's going to make them mad and say no i don't like the judicial system," said Caleb Evenson from Boise, "But it works the way it's supposed to. This is how it works."
