Kidnapped Meridian boy found safe near Burley

BURLEY, Idaho (KBOI) - A 5-year-old Meridian boy was found safe Saturday night after being kidnapped by his mother earlier in the day.

According to Meridian Police the boy, named Tristan, has not had a relationship with his mother, Korey MacDonald, for the last two years. MacDonald lives in Missouri, but had asked to see the boy Saturday.

Tristan's father agreed to meet her at a store, but when the two arrived just before 4 p.m., Korey's current husband, Jonathan MacDonald, and her brother, Joshua Reeves, tased Tristan's father while she grabbed him. The three then took off.

Officers around the state were called to look out for the three suspects. An Idaho State Police trooper found them Saturday evening driving on I-84 through Burley. The trooper followed the car until it pulled off the interstate into a gas station. At that point, another Idaho State Police trooper arrived and helped take all three suspects into custody.

The boy's mother, Korey MacDonald, her husband Jonathan and brother Joshua Reeves are being booked into the Cassia County Jail for kidnapping. Jonathan MacDonald also faces a battery charge, and Reeves is also being charged with aggravated battery.

Tristan was expected to be reunited with his father Saturday night.
