'It's more than just shopping. It's kind of like an experience'

MERIDIAN, Idaho (KBOI) - The Village at Meridian had its soft opening Thursday night. The event allowed stores to do a test run and allowed residents to see what the shopping center is like at night.

The shopping center features several shops and restaurants that are a part of the newest addition to the Treasure Valley's retail.

People got a first look at the color coordinated water fountain in the middle of the shopping center which is choreographed to music. The courtyard also features a lot of seating and open space for concerts and entertainment.

An experience which residents like Eric Jensen can't wait to see.

"It's more than just shopping. It's kind of like an experience," said Jensen. "The fountains, all of the entertainment that's here. From what I've heard there will be a lot of entertainment that will be going on throughout."

The new Village features shopping, restaurants, and a movie theater.
