Idaho Press-Tribune starts weekly newspaper in Meridian
MERIDIAN, Idaho (AP) - A new weekly newspaper called the Meridian Press is starting in southwestern Idaho.
Idaho Press-Tribune Publisher and President Matt Davison says the free paper will be delivered each Friday starting Jan. 25 to more than 10,000 homes in Meridian.
Davison made the announcement Tuesday at the Meridian Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon.
The Meridian Press will also be included in Friday editions of the Idaho Press-Tribune that go to Meridian.
The full-size weekly will cover Meridian government, business, education, community events and sports.
Davison says research conducted a year ago found residents wanted better coverage of Meridian.
The Idaho Press-Tribune is part of the Seattle-based Pioneer News Group.
