Idaho K9 helps detectives sniff out 58 pounds of marijuana
COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho (KBOI) —
A K9 with the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office was able to sniff out 58 pounds of marijuana inside a vehicle during a traffic stop this week.
The sheriff's office says deputies made a traffic stop on Interstate-90 and pulled over Michael A. Campbell, a 70-year-old man from Yakima, Wash., who said he was drviing from Washington state to Chicago.
While Campbell and the deputy were talking, K9 Pogo alerted to the presence of drugs inside the vehicle.
After a search, police found nearly 60 pounds of pot, three grams of methamphetamine, $1,400 in cash and a loaded gun.
Campbell has been booked into the Kootenai County Jail for felony drug trafficking and possession of a controlled substance. He was also charged with possession of paraphernalia.
