Idaho farmers dive into spring work

BURLEY, Idaho (AP) - This is a busy time of year for Idaho farmers who are putting in crops and setting up irrigation systems.

Dean Edgar who farms in south Burley in southern Idaho says there' s a lot of work involved in getting irrigation up and running.

Delays in water delivery, broken pipes and clogged culverts can take a while to resolve.

Declo farmer Tim Darrington tells The Times-News that once an irrigation system is up and going it's usually good to go for the year.

Farmers are saying that weather and planting conditions have been fantastic so far this season. Corn and beets are in the ground and farmers say that things have been smooth so far.
