ID babysitter charged with killing girl waives right to speedy trial
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) - A northern Idaho woman charged with killing a 2-year-old girl she was babysitting has waived her right to a speedy trial.
The Lewiston Tribune reports that 29-year-old Natasha N. Hodges of Lewiston on Wednesday waived her right to have the trial within six months of her arraignment.
Hodges pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder on April 17 in 2nd District Court.
Prosecutors say 2-year-old Rylee Mingo died of internal bleeding on Aug. 30 after being struck in the abdomen by Hodges.
